Super Mario 64 gets a mod with ray tracing

We were already surprised to see Minecraft, a game that seems to have been developed in the 90's due to its graphics, with the benefits of Ray Tracing technology. Thinking along these lines, it wouldn't be strange to see a version of Super Mario 64 being run with ray tracing on PC. This in fact happened due to the effort of the modding community in an attempt to add modern graphics to the classic Nintendo game that was originally developed for the Nintendo 64.

At the end of last year, Dario, responsible for the mod with Ray Tracing in Super Mario 64, even published a video demonstrating the application of technology based on the physics of light (understand what Ray Tracing is here). Check it out below:

According to Adam Conover, Nintendo has canceled a series of The Legend of Zelda

At the end of January, the modder gave another preview of the progress of his work with Super Mario 64 through a short video and said:

"Things are finally starting to calm down and I'm catching up on some outstanding work. It's going to take a while to get back to making more progress. Thank you all for your patience."

Check out the tweet below where Dario publishes another video demonstrating his work with the Nintendo classic:

Things are starting to calm down at last and I'm catching up with some pending work. It's gonna take a while to get back into making more progress. Thank you all for your patience.

    Super Mario 3D All Stars

In case you didn't know, Super Mario 3D All-Stars was announced in late 2020 and is a collection of 3 remastered titles that was released in September of last year. The pack contains the titles Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. Sales will be available until March next year (2021) according to the company. It is unknown what the Japanese game developer will do after this.
