Pokémon Go developer Niantic today announced a new program for Pokémon Go users that will allow their Pokestops and Gyms to be renamed. Called "Niantic Wayfarer", the software does the same function as the Ingress application, which allows the creation of Pokestops and Gyms.
We’re happy to introduce Niantic Wayfarer: our new tool that enables eligible users to review interesting places to play our games across the globe. Learn more about what it takes to join, and how you can help enhance your local game experience at https://t.co/2SjjoC8OlH pic.twitter.com/DWkecc4lYH

The new program will make it easier to inspect all points. The aim of the project is to ensure that Pokestops and Gyms are unique and safe. Coaches can find interesting spots that could be private property, a school, unsafe or temporary.
